Next Eleven Paper | Giacomo Bastianelli

Image

This piece by designer and musician Giacomo Bastianelli, former ECAL student, redefines the way in which music is presented. Next Eleven Paper fills the gap between the physical object and digital media.

The piece consists of a newspaper with image that, when scanned with the N-11 augmented reality app which was made for the project, a selection of mexican music is reproduced merging into the images. Next Eleven Paper parts from the idea that the next renewal wave for the musical scene might not come from the occidental world, but rather, from developing countries known as the Next Eleven: Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Phillipines, Turkey, South Corea, and Vietnam. Next Eleven Paper offers a panorama in which sound is completely intertwined with images.
