Christian Brändle is an architect, curator, and writer. Since 2003 he is director at the Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich. Before taking this role, he was responsible of the architecture projects of the Arteplage Murten in Expo .02 (Swiss National Exhibition) and worked in the Kunsthalle Basel, Art Basel and Opernhaus Zürich.

He has curated a variety of exhibition and edited publications such as Sport Design, 100 Years of Swiss Design, 100 Years of Swiss Graphic Design, René Burri, Head to Head – Political Portraits and Out to Sea? The Plastic Garbage Project. In 2014, he opened a new location of the Museum in Toni-Areal and in 2018 he inaugurated the museum’s expansion.

Christian Brändle has a master in architecture by the ETH (Federal Institute of Technology of Switzerland), and is member of various juries and assosiations like the Swiss Poster Award (president) and Art Museums of Switzerland (President). In 2012, he was named Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres of the French Republic. Currently, he lives and works in Zurich.
