Swiss Design Mexico

Since 2017, Nouvel Studio collaborates with the Swiss Design Mexico program initiated by the Embassy of Switzerland in Mexico, which seeks to strengthen the existing relationship between both countries. Part of this collaboration consistd of an agreement between Nouvel Studio and the Federal Office of Culture of Switzerland that in a joint manner will select during 5 years a designer nominated by the Swiss Design Awards  to develope a project with Nouvel Studio.

This exhibition, titled “Islas” (or islands in Spanish) and presented in the Galería El Rule within the scope of the Abierto Mexicano de Diseño festival and World Design Capital Mexico City 2018, consists of the first result of said collaboration: between Nouvel Studio and Swiss designer Julie Richoz who are presenting a previously unseen colección of vases in blown glass that celebrate both the technical skills of the glass artisans, as well as the chromatic richness offered by the material.
