Valerio Olgiati, known as “the swiss master of reinforced concrete”, is son of the architect Rudolf Olgiati and graduate from the Federal Polythecnic of Zurich (ETH). During his career of over thirty years, he has won a variety of prizes, monst recently a mexican one, the Mario Pani Award, delivered to him on the 14th of March of the present year. Olgiati’s work is already at the level of cult. It includes a dialogue between classic subjects of architecture with a language of new, radical, precise shapes. His designs show architectural simplicity, but gather an interior complexity, technique, and design.

In the exhibition “Valerio Olgiati. The Idea of Architecture” fourteen of his projects are presented, reuniting a variety of tipologies and diverse scales; created during more than twenty years. In order to match the rigorous work of his architecture, the curatorial work was done in his studio, as if it were another one of his projects. The exhibition is composed by a series of models and plates in the maner of an iconic autobiography of the architect, offering a general panorama of his work.
